Juliono Serriani was an above the knee amputee that was very motivated to walk and was greatly interested in getting a prosthesis so that he could live the remainder of his life to the fullest. The patient had a malignant brain tumor and was going through intense chemotherapy.

Even though he had insurance that paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical claims, they denied coverage for a prosthetic device. Juliono could not afford the prosthesis and was forced to spend every day in a wheelchair. The limbs of love program delivered his donated prosthesis on August 23, 2007.

Mr. serrriani was able to take his first few steps that day and he was over joyed by the new found freedom that he was able to experience. After enjoying the freedom provided to him with a donated limb, Juliono Serriani’s life was cut short. On September 1, 2007 Mr. Serriani passed away, his family donated the limb back to limbs of love because they wanted to help another amputee like Limbs of Love had helped their loved one.
