Limbs of Love was founded in 2006 by Joe Sansone, CEO of The Amputee and Prosthetic Center of Houston.  We are a charitable organization whose mission is to provide limbs to those patients in Houston and across Texas that have lost a limb but do not have the resources to pay for a prosthetic device.  Very few charitable organizations have such a significant impact upon the lives of others.

Much like the saying about helping the hungry, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, and you have fed him for a lifetime.    A simple cash donation can provide a needy amputee with the ability to walk for the rest of their life.

We are not just helping someone for a short period of time but we are offering them a “new lease on life”.  Think about what we are able to do for these patients.   It’s not like giving money to a charity that must continually ask for donations to assist people, or donations that are forgotten about in a few weeks.

When a limb is donated to a patient we are literally giving them back their life.  A new prosthetic device for someone who has been living sometimes for several years without one means freedom and independence for that person.  They are no longer homebound or tied to a wheelchair or restricted from living an active productive life.

“With just $1,500, we can literally take someone out of a wheelchair and have them walking in a week”.

Limbs of Love accepts monetary donations from private individuals and corporate sponsors. We also accept donations of previously owned prosthetic devices.  These used limbs are broken down and the components are used for future Limbs of Love recipients.
